So I’m barely starting our homeschool journey. My son just turned two so I’m really starting to pin down what I would like for him as far as preschool/homeschooling goes. But the laws are something I really have no clue about. Does anyone know what CA requires as far as records, etc?

Hi there! I am a CA homeschooler and yes, I know A LOT about homeschooling in CA. First of all, you won't need to register online with the state until the Fall of your child going into 1st grade. There are no records that need to be turned in altho I always keep a smattering of work from every grade, attendance (180 days are required per school year) and I keep a report card. You can check out HSLDA for up to date laws. We are a member and if we ever need any help legally they have a team ready to help. We also receive a membership card that I carry with me at all times if we are ever out during school hours and get asked questions. We never have been bothered! Ask if you have any other questions!
