I have a student who wants to run equipment such as excavators, backhoes, tractors, and anything else used to do dirtwork when he grows up. I am looking for any resource usable for building a curriculum around this subject. I am appreciative, and thanks!

Usborne books are a great resource and they are reasonably priced! :giggle:

How old is he? Any specific subjects you're hoping to include?
Hi PeachyDoodle, my son is 13, is allergic to pencils, and a struggling reader. I would like to use his love of excavation to help him improve in these areas. I would like to use the topic to improve his writing and reading.

Have you seen The Earthmovers Encyclopedia? The reviews look great (they say there are more pictures than text). It features nearly every piece of digging equipment that you could imagine. The library probably has it. Hope this helps, and good luck! You might could do a short unit study on his favorite machines!
