    In need of support...

I hear you! And I've been running into this lately. That attitude can be overwhelming. I took some great advice from @EightGreatKids and ran with it... I drew closer to her (as much as I really didn't want to). I spent more one on one time with her and have invited her out to a couple hot...

    Child refuses to be taught

Thank you for your kind words and heartfelt advice. Things have improved a bit this week. We're spending more one-on-one time together and I've made a point to make a bigger deal over her successes. I truly appreciate your insights.

    Child refuses to be taught

Well friends, I've run into an interesting struggle with my oldest daughter (she just turned 12). She refuses to be taught. She feels like she knows everything and if I show her how to do something (i.e. a math equation or the proper spelling for a word) she gets mad at me and most of the time...

    Been There, Done That

My husband works a job that allows him to be home early enough for us to have dinner together and to make extra-curricular activities manageable. My girls do girl guides and Kung-fu once a week. We were doing gymnastics weekly in the fall but activities 3x a week was a bit too busy. I wish...

How many other moms here work while homeschooling?

I work from home. I make income from my website and books. I also work for a child care centre as their social media and communications consultant. I manage their social media accounts, publish articles monthly on their website, and maintain/update their website. Between these two commitments I...

Hi! Do you have science experiments on your kitchen counters too?!

LOL - that’s awesome. You’re just waiting for the opportune time, that’s all! 😉

Hi! Do you have science experiments on your kitchen counters too?!

🤣🤣 exactly! My husband has said on a couple occasions that our science experiments aren’t very appetizing to look at. (As I place them strategically by the cookie jar). 🤣😂

Hi! Do you have science experiments on your kitchen counters too?!

Exactly!! And when I get flack for asking them to clean the bathroom - I simply say it’s science. 😜

Hi! Do you have science experiments on your kitchen counters too?!

Me too - we don’t have a “normal” looking house. 85% of our artwork was made by our kids. 🤣😂

Who is starting back up tomorrow?

I was going to start back today but I'm super sick with a sinus cold and it's my oldest daughter's birthday on Tuesday (we always take birthdays off)... so I decided this past weekend that we'll start back up on Wednesday. :)

    Too Many Cookbooks

I have condensed my favourite recipes into my own cookbook ( a binder with recipes added into it). I'm currently working on the project of typing everything up into CreateMyCookbook (so it looks pretty). I only add a few recipes a week but hopefully by the end of 2020 it will be done! :)
